Spaghetti is an Italian pasta which has texture similar to noodles but is a little more thick in size. It mostly comes in linguine shape like long sticks.

The biggest challenge in making spaghetti or any pasta is the measurement. How much to make? It’s quite simple actually. I did the counting for you. For 2 persons, you will need around 150 sticks of spaghetti which is almost 1/2 a packet. It will fill two tummies well enough.

Two commonly made spaghetti dishes are

1. Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce

2. Stir Fry Spaghetti 

Spaghetti in Tomato Sauce 

Ingredients

Spaghetti

Olive oil

5 garlic cloves

3 Tomatoes crushed or pureed

Italian Seasoning (or oregano and red chilli flakes)

Cheese ( parmesan or mozarella)

Salt

 

Directions –

In a deep vessel bring water to a boil and add salt. Drop in the spagetti sticks in the water. When they get a little flexible, immerse the sticks entirely in water. Cook according to package instructions.Mostly it takes 20 minutes for the spagetti to get al dente(just cooked).

Do not overcook it. The strings should be stiff but also be able to smudge when pressed between fingers.

Drain the spaghetti.

While the spaghetti is cooking, prepare the sauce.

Keep a pan or kadai on flame,  add 1tbsp olive oil. When oil is heated, add the finely chopped garlic cloves.

When the garlic turns light golden, add in the crushed or pureed tomatoes and 1 tsp salt. Sauté it for 4 minutes until raw smell goes.

Next add 1tbsp Italian seasoning and 1/2 tsp sugar.

Sauté for 1 minute and add in the drained pasta. Mix the sauce and spaghetti well for 1 minute.

 Garnish with grated cheese.

Yummy Italian Spaghetti is ready.

Stir Fry Spaghetti 

Stir Fry Spaghetti is a mix of stir fry vegetables and spaghetti. An Indian recipe style, this recipe is similar to Stir Fry Pasta Recipe. The Only difference between both is adding the cooked spaghetti instead of the pasta. Do check the link below.
