Chicken on skewers can become a easy way to impress your guests. Even if you are a beginner, you can make your dishes look like a chef’s. There are so many recipes out there which may confuse us. But starting with the easier recipes is a smart way to learn. I love making them occasionally and enjoy every bit of it.

I have listed 2 of my favorite chicken skewer recipes.

There are only 2 steps –

1. Marinating – This is the most important step because the longer the marinating time, the better the flavor will infuse in the meat. I prefer overnight marinating in the refrigerator.

2. Grilling in oven or on stove in aflat grill pan.

Lemon Pepper Grilled Chicken 

Marinating Ingredients –

1. Olive oil –  3 tbsp

2. Lemon juice – 2 tbsp

3. Garlic cloves grated – 2

4. Crushed pepper – 2 tsp

5. Salt

6. Boneless chicken cubes – 250gm


Honey Glazed Garlic Chicken

Marinating Ingredients –

1. Boneless chicken cubes – 250gm

2. Olive oil – 1tbsp

3. Honey – 3  tbsp

4. Soy sauce – 3 tbsp

5. Garlic cloves – 2

6. Crushed pepper – 1/2 tsp

7. Salt(1/4 tsp depending on soy sauce salt content)


Directions –

1. Soak the skewers in water for few minutes.

2. Cut the boneless chicken pieces into cubes. In a bowl mix all the marinating ingredients and refrigerate overnight or at least 4 hours.

3. Arrange the chicken in the skewers along with diced onions, tomatoes and capsicum. With a silicone brush, apply the leftover marinating sauce over the chicken and vegetables.

4. Preheat the oven at 180°C and place the skewers on a tray or grill. Set timer for 15-20 minutes. If you are using large pieces, it takes 25-30 minutes. You can also grill them on a stove top pan.

5. Yummy delicious chicken on skewers is ready to impress your guests.
